Clinical associate professor Rumay Alexander, director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, discussed the changing face of nursing on Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins , WFAE-FM on May 8, 2009. Throughout the hour-long interview, she highlighted the growth of and need for more diversity within the nursing profession. She also touched on the ethnic and racial changes that are taking place in the patient population and the need for nurses to be adequately prepared to provide appropriate care to these various groups.
