The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing is opening
new positions for tenure-track faculty. According to Dean Kristen Swanson, hiring faculty with a strong focus on research is essential to sustaining the School’s ranking as a top-tier nursing school in both clinical and research education.
The SON is the No. 4-ranked nursing school in funding from the National Institutes of Health.
It consistently falls within the top 10 graduate school rankings produced by the U.S. News & World Report.
The student body currently boasts almost 700 students. The school offers programs leading to BSN, MSN and PhD degrees.
In addition to attracting faculty with its stellar reputation, rankings and funding, the SON offers added benefits. The School is located on a beautiful, historic campus, and it provides a highly collaborative environment across the University and Health System.

This is good news. With the current nursing school shortage, more teachers would equal more students graduating.
